Education
We focus on our local schools through a robust American history program that culminates each spring at our annual awards ceremony. We welcome students, parents, and school faculty to participate in the presentation of awards for the national American History essay contest, DAR Good Citizens contest, Excellence in Citizenship, and awards to Junior American Citizens. Our Colonel William Cabell Chapter, NSDAR, scholarship is presented each year to two graduating seniors from our local school district.
Patriotism
Supporting veterans and military families is an important cause for our chapter. We make regular contributions to the Fisher House Foundation and Veteran Food Pantry at the Veterans Administration Long Beach Healthcare System. Each holiday season we fundraise and lay wreaths on veterans' graves for Wreaths Across America.
Genealogy Classes and Membership Information
Our chapter is fortunate to be located near the Orange County Family Search Library in Orange, California. We partner with the library to hold genealogy classes. If you are interested in joining us for one of these informative and interesting classes, or if you just want more information about them, please contact our registrar.
