California DAR

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women’s service organization comprising 3,000 chapters and over 175,000 members. On October 11, 1890, eighteen women officially organized the NSDAR for historic, educational, and patriotic purposes. Since that day, more than 900,000 women have joined, representing chapters in fifty states and many countries around the world.

The Colonel William Cabell Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, was organized in 1949 by Mrs. Charles K. Boardman with twenty-four charter members. Today the Colonel William Cabell Chapter is very active in its community and boasts over 100 members from Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, and many other neighboring cities.
